In my experience in these sort of circumstances, there may be 3 key areas to look at : Thanks for your help, and if you have any other suggestions, I am all ears. I would really like to find a solution to this problem since I actually paid money for this and am looking for something that has a simpler interface with a smaller learning curve than Blender seems to have. While I would like to believe that the problem is somewhere with my computer, the fact that I was able to use another (free) program to essentially do the same thing I was attempting with PD10, leads me to believe that it is a software issue. I was thinking I may have had some bad RAM because of the exception code contained in the minidump file indicates such, but like I said, the tests I did came back clean. I also removed all the other video editing software I had installed (Nero, Creative, etc) and ran CCleaner before re-installing PD10, just to eliminate any possible software conflicts and registry issues.Īlso ran a memory test using memtest and a stress test using BurnIn and didn't have any problems with either. If it doesn't resolve your problem, then you need to move onto something else.Thank you for your responses, I realize that there could be many problems and I was just getting frustrated yesterday.Īs for your suggestion, I already uninstalled and re-installed. I personally don't think it will solve your problem Georg, but give it a go. In any event (and to keep this thread focused on the issue I resolved), if you have anything running in the background that is monitoring/controlling the video card in anyway (fraps, rivatuner, EVGA Precision, etc.) disable it and try again. That issue seems different to me, as you are not clicking on any menu items when the problem occurs. after a minute or two, it crashes and a "send report" box appears. When I do the initial startup of DVD12 ultra, the program searches for photos, etc. Hopefully someone will confirm this issue and add it to their support FAQ Personally, I added all the PowerDVD executable files in the root of the Cyberlink folder just to make sure I wouldn't have the problem again. Once it is added (or found), you'll need to select it, then choose the 'none' button in the 'application detection level' area. If it is not there you'll need to hit the large plus icon and browse for the executable file. You will need to open up RivaTuner and look at the Application Profile Properties window. You'll need to either do this, or disable it from running. If you use the EVGA Precision program (which is a program that is also merged with Rivatuner), it will conflict with PowerDVD12 Ultra unless you modify the RivaTuner settings. It would seem to happen when I clicked on a menu (like settings, for instance) and then soon after crash and pop up the 'send info' box.įirst off, I have an EVGA Nvidia GeForce 670 video card. I noticed (once I got through issues with MS Visual C++ not being installed properly) after I installed and updated with the latest patch, that the program would crash within a couple of minutes of starting up. I bought PowerDVD 12 Ultra yesterday for Blu-ray viewing on Windows 8.
